Home Entrance according to Traditional Feng Shui


A birdbath will enhance the quality of Chi.

If the home entrance faces something unatractive, place a mirror above the entrance.

If the back door is visible from front door or front door opens into the living room - place room diver.

When Feng Shui home, start with home entrance, because if it is not balances, the whole home will not be balanced because of it.

Feng Shui home entrance Rules and Tips

  • Create a curved path towards your home entrance. It will attract positive healthy energy into your home.
  • A birdbath or a small pond in the garden will enhance the quality of Life Enenrgy - Chi.
  • If your entrace door is too large compared to the house - place a wind chime outside the door. This will prevent Sha or negative energy from entering your house.
  • If the doorway of your house is too small it will not allow enough Chi to enter the house. So activate the entrance according to its direction by placing items representing that particular direction. So if the entrance is in the north - metal and water items will improve the energy flow in the north.
  • If the back door is visible from the front door, then Chi will enter through the front door and flow straight out of the back door without circulating inside the house. Place a tall potted plant or a screen between the two doors to prevent the Chi from flowing in a straight line. Doing this will deflect Chi and allow it to circulate within the house. If you live in a place with this problem, you can place a large screen at a distance from the front door so that it covers the view to the back door, and place a large plant in front of the screen.
  • If the entrance hall has no doors or windows and is enclosed then it can lead to stagnant Chi. A mirror, a small fountain or a ceiling fan can solve this problem.
  • If the foyer is small and the staircase is facing the main door directly, the energy takes a rushed and fragmented quality, being forced to quickly rush up or down the stairs. Place a bagua mirror above the staircase.
  • If you do not like the entrance of your home, make Home Entrance Attractive. It will encourage positive energy to enter. If you can arrange that, face your entrance door towards harmony or prosperity direction. This will help bring in wealth, love and happiness.
  • If the entrance is cluttered, keep Things Away From The Entrance, so the door is free to open without problems. Make sure your front door is not broken, and opens smoothly.
  • If The Front Door opens Directly Into The Living Room, place some kind of buffer to slow the energy. If you have no choice put an attractive three-fold screen or room divider a few feet from the entrance with a healthy green plant in front of the screen. The screen will slow the good energy so that it can flow softly around the screen.
  • If the front door faces the hill, another building or or any kind of over-sized or massive structure, place a fence or something to separate your area from that structure. Your home entrance should be well lit and airy. You can place a mirrored bagua above the door to deflect some of the negative energy from entering your home.Hang Wood Or Metal Wind Chimes to help deflect the energy. The chimes must be hollow to be effective. Bright-Colored Doors Are Very Inviting But regardless of the color, it should provide a good contrast to the color of the rest of the house.
  • If you live in an apartment building, try not to live at the end of a long corridor, nor in front of the elevator or stairway. If possible, place a plant at the entrance in the hallway to slow some of the fast flowing energy. Fresh flowers brought in weekly help keep your energy level high.
